A RESOLUTION TO INSTALL BARRIERS & SUICIDE PREVENTION SIGNAGE ON THE FOURTH STREET PARKING GARAGE
October 17th, 2023
-
This resolution passed by the SGA Senate urges that the administration of the university construct barriers and increase suicide prevention signage on the fifth level of the parking garage on campus.

An overwhelming amount of students at the university called for enhanced safety in the parking garage on campus. Installing these barriers actively deters and prevents individuals from jumping or falling from the fifth level.
Senators also called for increased suicide prevention signage to deter suicidal actions and assist in the mental health support of students.
The Student Government Association advocates for student safety and well-being at our university. By passing this legislation, we are able to better protect students from physical and psychological harm.
